It is a modern house influenced by Cape regional architecture.The aim is  to give it a sense of place and a timeless character. The front has a formal character,  but with the inviting openness of the traditional terrace or stoep. At the back where most of the day to day living occurs, the design is relaxed for an unhindered flow between outside and inside. All the bedrooms have sliding doors to the outside. This allows for flexibility of use, specially for the third bedroom facing the street, which can also be a home office or place of business.
